DAYACTIVITIES
Arrival, Reception and Hostel Formalities.
01st  – 08th  DayTenzing Rock & HMI Campus.   Physical training/Yoga, Distribution of Ropes, Adm Instruction, Visit to HMI Campus and Museum, Opening Address, Introduction to Mountaineering Equipments, Rucksack Packing, Issue of Equipments, Medical Inspection, Mountain Manners and Custom, Mountain Hazards, Map Reading-I, Map Reading-II & GPS, First Aid, Flora and Fauna, Mountain Terminology, Himalayas, Mountain Clothing and their materials, Prevention and Treatment of Mountain Illness, Avalanche, Sport Climbing, Weather and clouds.  Principles of rock Climbing, Holds, Bouldering, Chimney climbing, Anchoring, Belaying, Rappelling. Introduction to Tents, Type of Tents, ropes, coiling of ropes, rope knots, Ice Axe and Crampons/Gaiter, Waste management, Trek to Tiger Hill, physical fitness test cum selection with full load via Pandam Tea Estate, Exchange of Equipments, Indoor and Outdoor Wall, Rope knots practice, Briefing on purchase of necessary items for mountain, Outing, deposit of personal valuable items, Training Film; Library.
9th DayMove to Yuksum – 1850 Mtr, West Sikkim.     Cleaning and layout of beds, Deposition of Leftover Items at Hostel/Cashier, Loading of Rucksack on vehicles, Move to Yuksum by vehicles, stay at Yuksum.
10th -11th  DayMove to Tshoka – 10000 Ft Approx.  Trek to Tshoka, Establishment of Camp, Acclimatization walk up to 11000 Ft, Lecture on Hygiene and Sanitation.
12th DayMove to Dzongri (13220 Ft).   Trek to Dzongri, Establishment of Camp, and Acclimatization walk to Dzongri Top – Dablagang.
13th DayMove to Base Camp.    Trek to Base Camp (Chowrikhang-14600 Ft) West Sikkim.
14th-22nd DayStay at Base Camp Chowrikhang (14600 ft).     Acclimatization walk, lecture on Surrounding Peaks, Co-ordination of Ice Axe and Fitting of Crampons, Issue of Central equipment, Glacier Travel and Ice Climbing Practice, Anchor Base – Ice and Snow, Glacier, Jumar Climbing, Fixed Rope, Self Arrest, Crevasse Rescue, Introduction to Expedition Planning, Revision of Fixed Rope, Crevasse Rescue, Ice Climbing and anchor base test, field cooking and uses of different cooking stove, Map reading exercise, preparation for height gain.
23rd DayHEIGHT GAIN
24th DayBase Camp   Suspension and Tyrolean Traverse, Class on Hyperbaric Chamber Including pulse Oxy-meter and Supplementary Oxygen, CPR, Stretcher Making, Layout of Personal Equipments, Camp Cleaning and Return of Central Equipments.
25th DayTrek back to Tshoka – Establishment of Camp.
26th DayTrek back to Yuksum – Lunch at Yuksum and move to HMI by vehicle.
27th DayWritten Test, Sports Climbing Competition, return of Equipments, Graduation Practice, Principal’s Interview, Cultural Programme, and Graduation Ceremony.
28th DayDispersal

01st – 06th Day HMI Campus & Training Area.   Physical Conditioning/Yoga, Distribution of Ropes, Adm Talk, Opening Address, Visit to HMI Campus, Issue of Equipments, Medical Inspection, Revision of Rope Knots, Fixed Rope and Artificial Climbing (L/D/P), Rock Climbing, Belay and Rappelling, Map Reading, GPS and Sports Climbing Practice. Expedition Planning  Part-I and Part-II, Demo and Practice on Dynamic Belay, Jumar Climbing Practice, Avalanche, First Aid and Exchange of Eqpt. Trek to Tiger Hill, weather and clouds, Sports Climbing (Indoor and Outdoor), Deposit of Library Book, Briefing on Purchase of necessary items for mountain, Outing, deposit of personal valuable items, Trg Film & Library.
07th  DayMove to Yuksum – 1850 Mtr, West Sikkim.     Cleaning and layout of hostel, Deposition of Leftover Items at Hostel/Cashier, Loading of Rucksack on vehicles, Assembles and move to Yuksum by vehicles, stay at Yuksum.
08th DayMove to Tshoka – 10000 ft Approx.     Trek to Tshoka, Establishment of Camp
09th DayMove to Dzongri – 13220 ft.     Trek to Dzongri, Establishment of Camp, and Acclimatisation walk to Dzongri top.
10th DayMove to Base Camp (Chowrikhang-14600 Ft) West Sikkim.
11th – 13th DayStay at Base Camp Chowrikhang – 14600 ft. Acclimatisation walk lecture on Surrounding Peaks, Issue of Central equipment, Issue of Climbing Boot, Crampon, Ice Axe for individual.  Bouldering, Segregation of Field Ration, Load Ferry to Advance Base Camp (ABC) and practice of Jumar Climbing etc.
14th-20th DayMove to Advance Base Camp (Height – 15500 Ft).  Stay for 08 days at ABC, Map Reading/GPS.  Fitting of Crampons/Gaiter. waste management, Pick Toe Climbing, Direct Aid Climbing on Ice Wall, Two piton Climbing, Revision of Avalanche, High Altitude Cooking, Fixed Rope, Expedition Planning, Crevasse Rescue Techniques, Ladder Launching, Stretcher Making, snow craft, self arrest, Team Arrest, Ascending, Descending and Route opening & Trek to Base Camp.  
21nd DayHeight Gain – BC Roy Peak 18000 Ft.
22rd DayRevision of Tyrolean and Suspension Traverse & Casualty Evacuation, Layout of Eqpt and Camp Cleaning.
23th DayTrek to Tshoka – Establishment of Camp.
24th DayTrek to Yuksum – Move to HMI by vehicle.
25th DayHMI Campus:  Sports Climbing Competition, Written Test, Maintenance of Equipment and Deposit and return of equipments & Preparation for Expedition Planning.
26th DayGraduation ceremony practice, Presentation of expedition planning.
27th DayPrincipal’s interviews, Graduation Ceremony.
28th DayDispersal.

9th & 10thMOVE TO TSHOKA – 10,000FT APPROXTrek to Tshoka | Establishment of Camp | Acclimatisation walk up to 11,000ft | Rescue Exercise and Own time.
11thMOVE TO DZONGRI – 13,220FTTrek to Dzongri | Establishment of Camp | Acclimatisation walk to Dzongri top.
12thMOVE TO BASECAMP (CHOWRIKHANG) – 14,600FT, WEST SIKKIM:
13th– 17thLECTURE DEMO AND PRACTICE ON ROCK, SNOW & ICE CRAFT AND RESCUE TECHNIQUES  – Base Camp & Rathong GlacierAcclimatisation walk | Surrounding peaks and revision of mountain terminology (L) | Issue of equipments |Hyperbaric chamber including  Pulse Oxymeter and supplementary oxygen | CPR,  Administering Life saving injection | Bandaging | Ice Climbing Practice | Anchor Base – Ice & Snow | Jumar Climbing | Crevasse rescue | High altitude cooking and survival night | Casualty evacuation through Suspension and Tyrolean traverse | Practice of Distress signal and Helicopter rescue demo in mountainous region | Navigation and rescue exercises (day & night).

20thHMI CAMPUS:Written Test, Equipment returns, Principal Interview, Graduation Practice & Graduation Ceremony .
